Both parents are medium-to-large dogs, but the Boxer is a bit bigger. That is generally around the size and weight in the middle between its parents. The mother is a mix of pitbull and boxer, while the father is an Idaho shag. These dogs are known for their muscular build, strong and athletic nature. They are playful, sweet dogs in general, but with the Rottweiler heritage, they need a firm and consistent hand in training.ġ6. If you are looking for a devoted guard dog, they don’t come more protective and loyal than a Rottweiler, and this hybrid combines that loyalty with a friendly and loving character. They have high exercise demands and are not suited to apartment living. This Dalmatian hybrid is a playful, energetic pooch that needs a great deal of exercise and interaction to stay happy and healthy. Fortunately, this can be treated by surgically removing the blue lens that coats the eye and makes sight challenging. The Rottweiler and Pitbull mix is also prone to develop cataracts that can impair its vision. They are great family dogs, and their intimidating stature makes them excellent guard dogs. A competent breeder should have the dog’s hips and elbows inspected before selling a litter of puppies. They are generally gentle giants, though, with a ton of devotion and affection to give. The Pitbull Boxer mix is known by other names: the Pitoxer, the Bullboxer, and the Bullboxer Pit.
